Interface Wien at the Mini-Messe for Intercultural Education and Language Promotion
Together with Stadt Wien– Integration und Diversität, Interface Wien took part in the Mini-Messe 2025 organized by the AK Wien and the Sprachförderzentrum of Bildungsdirektion Wien on January 14th!
Educators from compulsory schooling were able to find out about exciting materials on the topics of intercultural education, German language support, language support in the first language and multilingualism.
There was particularly great interest in our project Wiener Sommerdeutschkurse, which are implemented in close cooperation with the Language Support Centre of the Vienna Education Directorate. Extraordinary compulsory school pupils can thus improve their German language skills – this year for the first time also for new schoolchildren who will be required to attend school from September 2025. Reading stimulates the imagination – and so does reading aloud!
On Friday, March 28, 2025, several bilingual readings took place at the StartWien Hub on the occasion of the Austrian Reading Day. For the morning and afternoon groups, a fairy tale was read in German and Arabic by trainers and participants of the StartWien Hub.
StartWien College presented as “Best Practice” in Prague
We're looking beyond our own horizons – and across our borders to Prague! "Attention, Support, Potential. Accessibility of Secondary Education for Young People with Migrant Backgrounds – Stakeholders and Challenges" is the title of a conference in Prague on March 20th, where our project manager, Barbara Peschke, presented the StartWien College project as a best practice example from Vienna.
Vienna against racism
On March 21, 2025, a conference of the City of Vienna – Integration and Diversity – took place in Vienna City Hall under the title “Vienna against Racism” – Interface Wien was represented by our great colleagues David and Raffael from the project “Extremismusprävention macht Schule”!
